rodent damage to tow vehicle

I park my tow vehicle outside during the summer months. recently I found out that rodents had been nesting in the engine bay, and they'd eaten through wires connected to my MAP sensor. the tow vehicle doesn't get driven much, and I'm wondering about strategies to discourage rodents from living in there and causing more damage.

dealership said mint or lavender. I zip-tied some mint in there. fingers crossed...
