Wanted: Recommendations for Datsun L24 machine shop or engine builder

Hello All,

I am looking for a local (ish) machine shop or possibly an engine builder for my Datsun L24. I am in Chelsea (48118) area. But will travel for the right place.

I took the engine apart years ago, and now, as I begin reassembly, I see I may need to cleanup the face of the head. (But then, that affects cam timing...)

Its a stock 73 engine. 48k original miles. The immediate goal is to build a sound, reliable engine for a 5k mile road trip in July. Probably staying stock, but would consider a few upgrades, if it doesn't add a lot of time, or add risk to reliability.

The car has been on jack stands for almost 15 years, so I have a ton of work to do to make it road trip worthy.

Any recommendations are appreciated.
