Weekday Workbee Opportunity

Post by Rich Johnson » Sun May 20, 2018 9:22 am

This Wednesday May 23 at 10 A.M. we'll be having a weekday workbee. The primary focus is improving the safety barriers on driver's left coming off Hill Top. This is the only day the 10K fork lift is available at a affordable price for a one day rental. Thanks to Ajax Paving for helping secure the lift.
In addition to moving the 12, 9500 lb blocks stored in the Big Bend corner we'll also be receiving another 12 blocks free from the Detroit Gran Prix. We pay transportation cost only. Wear cloths that will get dirty. It will be necessary to move a number of 40 year old tires to clear the way for the blocks.
Finally it's a rare time that I request used STREET tires but now is the time. I only accept STREET tires 16 inch and larger. The tires need to be drilled with 3 holes a minimum of 2 inch or larger on one side to allow drainage. The equipment to drill is available if necessary.
Cheers,

A BIG THANKS to those hardy souls that helped out at today's workbee Jim Dopirak, Bill & Kathy Writt, Chip Bliem, Rick McOmber and Ron Krantz. A greatly needed safety improvement was made to driver's left coming off Turn 4. Improvements include the addition of cement barriers and tire wall.
While cement can be intimidating the half dozen trees that were being protected by 40 year old tires were pretty much useless.
Thanks Again,
Your High Low driver in training, Cheers
