Trophies ,, race weekend # 2

OK, here we go. Some folks have stepped up to help in my planned absence for weekend # 2 . To show support for Jim Kidd and Sean Grogan stepping up, please make a point to attend. Also Matt Wolff has stepped up, so later in the season,, expect Matt announce awards as well. I am personally happy and ...

Positive stuff. Thank you Team Novak

Yep, lot's of good happens around here. I would like to thank ( on behalf of the club ) Mike and Kristen Novak for a generous donation to the club. Before you get too excited, no , it was not offering to repave the track. They donated a golf cart for official use. Yes, our rules set will need some a...

Re: Trophy Presentation , 1 hour after racing.

Thread is slowing down. So here is how i see it ( chime in if you have an opinion ) Thanks to Liz, and others with good ideas. I like the idea of starting @ 1/2 after the last checker. No later than 6:30. Since TT is most likely to be the common last group, and they seem very good at loading and get...

Support your local regional

While it may be too late for many, put it in the back of your mind for next year. This weekend ( yes, Mothers Day ) , there is a regional at Gingerman . Jerry Shiloff is very active at Great Lakes regionals,( as is Mary ) ( he is event chair on this one ) So, you have known friendly faces on site. T...

Re: well, that was interesting,

More to add after a few days. While T-T had more cars than 2 run groups combined , i think that may have been a blessing in disguise. With the cold and often wet track, added high / strong wind gusts, The open wheel cars, if higher subscribed, may have been even more active with action. Any action o...

Re: Trophy Presentation , 1 hour after racing.

Glad to hear it Jason.
T.T. turnout was great, on track and at trophies. Glad to hear folks feel welcome.
Like i said to you in the paddock, Love the color on your Focus.
It is causing me to rethink my paint scheme.

Re: Trophy Presentation , 1 hour after racing.

Go Liz Go !

Another forgotten point, one can go early .

If one cannot stay , one can still pick up trophies before departing. ( A VERY nice thing to help the trophy chair provided she is ready )

Sunday Club Social Hour ( sorta ) prior to trophies.. I really like it Liz , good train of thought.

Re: Trophy Presentation , 1 hour after racing.

Ted, Glad you were able to use it. The B.O.D. approved that with the hope it would improve trophy attendance and have other positive by products. ( race entries , club comradery ) There was not an increase in bodies that could be measured or noticed. While i have no problem with incentives, we are a...

Re: Trophy Presentation , 1 hour after racing.

OR,, remember also that the clubhouse needs to updated on this , it's only fair to warn the bartender and kitchen staff. What about Trophies start @ 6:30 , period ? Is that too late ? early ? I bet Rich would like it if the paddock cleared out swiftly. Kyle,, buy more clothes , that is what Monday n...

Re: Trophy Presentation , 1 hour after racing.

Liz, That MAY be viable. The 1 hour was an easy number to remember. Plus at one time the trophy chair raced in the last race group. Even at 1 hour there are folks still in the paddock loading up. Secondary social hour :) 1/2 hour might be tight, but let's see if Cynthia has an opinion, as she does t...

Re: Trophy Presentation , 1 hour after racing.

O.K. Thanks for the " kind" words, but my post was not for attention or accolade , it was to call attention that we have trophies, and that it would be great to see them all picked up. Happy to hear a few ideas. I like the idea of a tag team. It would be nice to have at least another person comforta...

Sean, Agreed. Young John has much to be proud of. Race operations aside, thanks for posting the video. I forwarded it to a student to study for the " do it like this ". Nice line , and all that goes with it. ( entry/exit speeds, drifts, shift points, the whole package ) Fwd students ,and low power t...

Trophy Presentation , 1 hour after racing.

A long tradition in our club. A trophy chairperson has a high labor job, before , during, and after a race weekend. Since they are not a " visible official" this task is often looked over and forgotten. Cynthia stepped to the plate, and does a great job, just as others before her. This weekend, i wa...

well, that was interesting,

I cannot remember a weekend like that one in a long time. Cold, windy, wet, sunny, cloudy, in changing variables every 15 minutes ( or so it seemed ) Excellent Volunteer turn out in all locations, hopefully making the new Director of Racing's easy on his first club weekend. Cold track temps, wet tra...

Re: Paddock spot Update !!!

Please note,,, the last row near swamp,,,, AVOID. The map , and what is really there are not correct. Plenty of other spots to be had. Last row should be Genick, Hoffman, and Murray, only. One less spot on that row than is mapped. Please use the rest of the paddock. Plus there is still some standing...
