Re: Grattan For Sale

It's been on the market (priced too high) for a while.

Re: Hans Device

As I recall, the FIA does not require re-certification. Thus, those ubits which as labeled as shown, would be exempt.

Re: lower 30s on friday night

I'm with Dave, it takes a long time to become a problem when the Temps just go to 30. If worried, a shop "trouble" light left on in the engine bay, with the hood closed, would allow you to sleep better that night.

Re: Avoidable multi car crash group 3

The pole sitter job is to assume the speed of the pace car when it leaves for pit lane, not go faster nor slower.

"Australian Pursuit Race"
I remember fondly doing that at least once (don't remember the year), at Waterford Hills driving my Formula Ford.
Great fun !

Re: Any news ...

I hate looking at crashed race cars right after something like that happens, so I don't. Looked like it took quite a hit, but the ol' Reynard did it's job. Glad to see you walking by, after medical released you.

Re: Protocol question

Driver's time is the issue. No time, start in the back (if approved by Chief Steward).

Re: Gingerman, Grattan & Mid-ohio

Grattan.
And that's why I've always loved Grattan. Enduro Karts, F/Ford, F/Super-vee, had a ball there no mater what I drove.
Did my first SCCA National race there in 1971. Even got a trophy for my effort!

Re: 2015 schedule

When I last drove, I would do most if not all of the Waterford races, which gave me the room in my schedule to add Grattan, Mid-Ohio (Gingerman wasn't around), IRP (not raced now), Nelson Ledges (ugh, what a pit), Elkhart Lake and/or more. If they (WHRRI) had larger fields at all of the 6 weekends, ...

Re: race weekend 3 afterglow.

Chris told me this was his first win. Maybe he saw the F/vee events of last year, when he was the only vee entered as not the same as when there are others in your class to race with ?

Re: Questions entering season 2

As I recall, to run for a WHRRI class/overall championship, you must be a WHRRI member, which also means you must be an OCSC member.
Otherwise, yes you can run with just your SCCA card.

Re: Newbie Questions

Transponder.
Put it anywhere it will be safe and get a good view of the timing line on the track.
The transponder has nothing to do with track position (finishing position), just timing.
Otherwise there would be a Spec. place for each type of car.

Re: Newbie Questions

Mike, Good to see you're on top of things. I've had many Driver's school candidates appear the week before driver's school, needing everything, to be surprised that all the sizes and options they wanted, was not just sitting here (or anywhere) waiting for them to walk in the door. Good planning is w...

Re: Newbie Questions

Do not wait until the week before to purchase any safety equpment you may need. Your choices diminish the closer it gets to when the season starts....
